NO ONE wants to look at me anymore - Ali Rustam finally ADMITS
Former Malacca chief minister Mohd Ali Rustam is upset that his own state rejected him for vice-president at the Umno elections last weekend.
According to Utusan Malaysia today, Mohd Ali said he only won in his own division of Bukit Katil while all the other five divisions in the state rejected him.
"This is the reality that I have to concede. When I do not hold any position at state or federal level, no one wants to look at me.
"But in the past, when I was chief minister for 13 years, everyone supported me," he was quoted as saying.
The divisions that rejected him were Tangga Batu, Alor Gajah, Masjid Tanah, Jasin and Kota Melaka.
Mohd Ali lamented that the divisions could choose up to three vice-presidents but would not even give one spot to him.
"What wrong is there if I am given a chance to fill one of the three vice-president positions?
"It is understandable if they can only choose one but regarding Malacca, I feel hurt as I did not get any support at all," he said.
In a bid for federal politics, Mohd Ali contested for a parliamentary seat in the last general election but suffered a shock defeat.
