Govt jets used to transport ROSMAH'S shopping home? Upset Shahidan invokes the name of GOD on critics
KUALA LUMPUR - Under fire from the Opposition to come up with a good reason why Rosmah Mansor, the unpopular wife of Prime Minister Najib Razak, should be allowed to represent the country on a taxpayers-paid trip to Qatar, an Umno minister Shahidan Kassim invoked the name to God to quell critics.
“May God make those who lie about this issue to repent or increase his wrath on them,” Shahidan, a leader in Najib's Umno party, told a press conference at the Parliament lobby on Tuesday.
Shahidan, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, insisted that the majority of lawmakers in Malaysia's Lower House were “thankful” to the 62-year-old Rosmah for having made a “fruitful” 3-day trip to Qatar, where she had attended a summit.

Rosmah's critics however claimed she had used the trip to go on one of her legendary shopping sprees.
Indeed, after Qatar, Rosmah stopped over at Dubai - the playground and shopping heaven of the fabulously rich and powerful.
She also met Princess Haya, the wife of UAE prime minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, at the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.
Nonetheless, Shahidan insisted that Rosmah's trip had a positive effect on the country. He had a day ago confirmed that Rosmah’s trip was funded by the government and that she had flown to the Middle East on the  private jets reserved for top officials.
"We hope the government jets weren't used to transport her shopping goods because the commercial flights wouldn't have enough luggage space," MP for Batu Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.
The Opposition lawmakers have said they intend to keep pressing Najib for a clear guideline as to who could represent the government on official trips and charge the expenses to public funds.
