Mass protest against KL assessment hike on Dec 16

Pakatan Rakyat MPs in the federal capital are to hold a mass gathering in front of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) on Dec 16 to hand over assessment rate hike objection letters from thousands of property owners in the federal capital.

The Federal Territories Ministry yesterday announced that the raising of property assessment rates has been postponed indefinitely until public hearings on the matter from January to March next year.

However, the closing date for objections remains the same, Dec 17.

NONEAnd one day before that, the Pakatan MPs will gather with their supporters and KL property owners at Dataran DBKL at 11am to continue expressing their unhappiness on the move to raise the assessment rates.

"We ask the people who object to the assessment increase to join us to show their unhappiness," DAP's Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai (above) said at a press conference with Pakatan MPs from the federal capital at the Parliament lobby today.
