The Star Online reports that widespread speculation about Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar filing for a divorce has been confirmed, according to syariah court records.
The online version of the mainstream English daily reported that a check with the lower Syariah Court at Jalan Duta revealed that Nurul Izzah filed a divorce petition against her husband Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim late last month.
It also reported that the daughter of the PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim declined to comment when reached, saying it was a private matter.
