HOW MUCH CASH? Actress accused of being Cabinet minister's mistress settles suit with ex-aide

KUALA LUMPUR - The defamation suit by local actress Hanez Suraya Abdul Aziz against her former personal assistant was settled amicably today.

High Court Judge Datuk Hue Siew Kheng recorded the consent judgment in chambers.

The plaintiff was represented by counsel Harjit Singh while Mohd Fairus Mohd Lazim, by counsel K. Rajasegaran.

Harjit when met by reporters, said the plaintiff was happy with the outcome; but he declined to elaborate on the terms of agreement. Both Hanez Suraya and Mohd Fairuz were not present in court.

Today was to have been the hearing for Mohd Fairus's application to set aside the judgement in default by the High Court here on Dec 27 after he failed to appear in court for the initial proceeding.

Hanez Suraya, 29, who acted in the drama, 'Love You Mr Arrogant' filed the suit against Mohd Fairus, 29, in November last year, alleging that the defendant had made disparaging remarks against her through his Instagram account, 'DashaSultan' and Twitter account, 'Dasha_Sultan between Sept 30 and Oct 15 last year.

She claimed the remarks had implied her to be snobbish, materialistic, a hypocrite and immature. – Bernama
