New Selangor MB to be sworn in next Tuesday

A new Selangor Menteri Besar (MB) wil be sworn in on Tuesday, although who it will be is not known.
Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua and PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli confirmed news of the swearing-in.
Earlier, The Star Online reported that the swearing-in ceremony will be held on Tuesday at 10am at Istana Shah Alam.
Citing anonymous sources, The Star Online said invitation cards to the ceremony have been sent to state leaders, elected representatives and other dignitaries
Tony Pua confirmed the report, telling The Malaysian Insider he understood the news of Tuesday's swearing-in to be true, but added that invitations have not been received.
News of Tuesday’s ceremony confirms The Malaysian Insider’s earlier report that the swearing-in would be held after the PAS Muktamar which ends this weekend.
DAP and PKR have submitted only one name – PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail – for the state’s top post. But PAS broke ranks when its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang sent three names to the palace.
The three are said to be Dr Idris Ahmad (PKR-Ijok), Dr Yakub Sapari (PKR-Kota Anggerik) and Iskandar Samad, the Selangor PAS commissioner, who is also a state exco member and Cempaka assemblyman.
It is not known if PKR and DAP have submitted more names following a reprimand by the Sultan of Selangor, who had asked the Pakatan Rakyat parties to submit more than two names.
Meanwhile, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli also confirmed news of the swearing-in and said he “hoped for the best” when asked if he knew who the new menteri besar would be.
If Dr Wan Azizah fails to be appointed as menteri besar, he said PKR would convene a meeting with PAS and DAP, as well as the 29 other Selangor assemblypersons who signed statutory declarations in support of her.
"We have to make a decision together once we have confirmation who is the next MB," he told The Malaysian Insider, adding that whoever the Sultan appoints should be according to procedures in the state constitution.
Selangor PAS exco member Sallehen Mukhyi said he heard about the swearing-in ceremony from a state village head, but had yet to confirm if it was official.
“We hope this is the best solution, our Pakatan allies must accept it,” he said when asked at the PAS muktamar today.
Sallehen said he did not know who the new menteri besar would be.
