Negri Sembilan today became the eighth state to be affected by the second wave of floods ravaging the peninsula, while the total number of evacuees nationwide rose to 132,684 today.
National news agency Bernama reported today that more than 300 people were evacuated in Negri Sembilan while the situation in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor and Perak was reportedly worsening.
In Kelantan, 55,960 evacuees are now in relief centres, up from the 45,467 last night.

In Terengganu, the number of evacuees stands at 35,028 today compared with 33,269 last night.
Kemaman and Dungun are the worst-hit districts, reports the Terengganu National Security Council (NSC) portal. Four people have died in the state from the disaster.
In Johor, 1,104 people have been evacuated as of this morning, up from 896 last night. Kota Tinggi is the latest district to be hit.
In Perak, Kerian was the latest flood-hit district. be hit. Almost 6,700 people have been evacuated in the state.
Meanwhile, Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in flood-hit Kubang Kerian has been allocated an additional RM3.5 million for medicines and other necessities for flood victims and outpatients. Earlier this month, the ministry provided RM1.5 million to the hospital.
In Pahang, the number of evacuees stands at 33,324 this morning but the situation is reportedly worsening.
Perlis and Kedah report that the flooding situation has improved.
