NAJIB'S HEAD TO ROLL, BN'S TOO: By now, Malaysians know only a new political coalition can stop the rot

NAJIB'S HEAD TO ROLL, BN'S TOO: By now, M'sians know only a new political coalition can stop the rot
Concern is mounting by right-thinking Malaysians over the bad management of the country, and their numbers are growing by the day following the incarceration of Anwar Ibrahim, opposition leader, on sodomy charges.
The conviction of Anwar and his subsequent jailing is probably the tip of the iceberg of Malaysia now degenerating into the throes of disarray, chaos and confusion. It doesn’t help that the nation is also suffering backlashes from Mother Nature.
What really has gone wrong with a nation, that since Merdeka in 1957, has been governed exclusively all this while by a single political entity – Barisan Nasional (BN). It is obvious that the writing is on the wall that the heydays of BN rule are effectively over.
In saying this with somewhat great confidence, many other right-thinking Malaysians are also in the same vein. In fact the slide of BN into abysmal governance began with the political tsunami of 2008 and since then BN rule has been steadily deteriorating.
Malaysians have entered into a dark era, a period of grave consequences as democracy, civil liberties and human rights have all been denied us by BN as they concur, collude, corrupt and engage in nepotism and cheating to stay in power.
The nation is in disarray
Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim forced behind bars but reforms will still take place in Malaysia if voters give up on BN
What really went wrong? BN was doing very well during the tenure of Tunku Abdul Rahman since the inception of the country. But his sudden ouster following the May 13, 1969 racial riots has since seen the deterioration of UMNO and BN.
This is because all along, since the implementation of the New Economic Policy (NEP) in 1970, the seeds of a nation going in different directions were sown. By pulling in different directions Malaysians created a nation that was set to implode like a time bomb in time to come.
It is only now, about 45 years after the ill-conceived and hastily-implemented NEP and other affirmative action programs that the seeds of the destruction of this nation seem to be taking place with Malaysia now viewed as a rogue nation or failed state.
If earlier there were doubts and an inkling of hope that Malaysia will not be viewed so badly by Malaysians and the international community, the conviction and jailing of Anwar Ibrahim in a trial that was a farce extinguished hopes of normality and condemned Malaysia.
Who is to blame?
Possibly the worst PM, Najib worsened the situation with his tacit green light to extremist groups such as Perkasa, Isma to fan already serious levels of racism and religious bigotry in the country
The blame for Malaysia being on the brink of destruction and collapse falls squarely on the shoulders of every adult Malaysian who continued to vote for BN to stay in power although it was revealed and proven to them that BN is no longer the political party that is the same as that of the yesteryears.
By pushing a futile belief that BN will still be effective and relevant in this era of globalization, Malaysians who stood by them staunchly like a faithful ally have been disappointed and now want out of their support of BN.
It is evident from the state of the environment (how degraded it has become through indiscriminate logging and development), the astronomical cost of goods and services (with wages and salary increases not keeping pace) and the deterioration of the Quality-of-Life that problems are increasing daily.
This is also evident by the fact that while private healthcare is beyond the reach of many Malaysians, public health care is of a poor quality, housing unaffordable and transportation not at all convenient and cheap.
Education has become a touchy, sensitive issue but it is obvious this is because it is also heavily politicized now that parents, students and teachers are all confused and going about getting an education through their own separate ways. The education system is in a thorough mess.
In fact, the education system is so messed up because of different shots being called by different BN political leaders that it is pulling in all directions and the victims are the young students whose future is in peril and danger.
Saving Malaysia
While in western and developed and advanced countries they have the luxury of spending time and money focusing on saving the whales, in Malaysia there is a dire need to save Malaysians from their unending hardship, suffering and misery.
In a United Nations survey last year it was found that Malaysians generally feel very unhappy with their lot in life and these are not just Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indians but a large section of the Malaysian Malay community as well.
So Malaysians can see now that their work is cut out for them, that they have to strive to save Malaysia from being utterly condemned as a pariah state that is worse than Third World countries and this is the stark reality towards which the nation is heading.
This is why it is high time for every Malaysian to set aside their prejudices, bias and differences and to put on their thinking caps to see how they can help each other get this country out of the rut and restore it to its former glory and eventually to make it a Great Nation.
Learn to think and consider, learn to filter fact and truth from untruths and lies and dismiss anything that reeks of an iota of doubt and Malaysians will then be able to see the truth and it is this truth that will set them free to make Malaysia a Great Nation. - MAILBAG
