In a recent tweet, Zaid said: “Now 4 counters serving 100 pax MAS Business Class, 3 counters serving 3 pax First Class. This sort of feudal elitism MAS must do away.”
In a note of caution he added, “Relax a bit on status and class. Be more functional and efficient.”
He also made reference to the airline’s new chief executive officer, Christoph Mueller, and cheekily added: “Another bit about MAS, with new CEO can we have a new kebaya uniform for the girls? Present design colour jaded. New fresh ones please.”
The ailing airline just launched a 12-part recovery plan drafted by Khazanah Nasional Berhad to ensure its return to profitability. Besides bringing a new CEO on board, the plan also involved the slashing of 6,000 jobs from its 20,000 workforce apart from a review of 4,000 existing contracts to bring its supply costs back to industry standards.
