MIRI: Police are looking for a woman driver, believed to be a road bully, for hitting a French woman with an umbrella and spitting on her in Jalan Krokop 10 yesterday.
A recording of the 11am incident has since gone viral on social media.
Miri police chief ACP Gan Tian Kee said the 44-year-old victim had lodged a police report about the incident.
He said the victim claimed that the incident happened after she screamed to alert the driver who nearly hit her 68-year-old mother while reversing her car.
The victim claimed the suspect got out of the vehicle in an aggressive manner carrying an umbrella, and then hit her three times on the head and also spit at her, he added.
He said preliminary investigations by the police found that the Toyota Camry was registered under the name of a catering company based here.
Gan said the road bully incident was the second case in Sarawak to have gone viral on social media this month.
The first incident occurred in Kuching last March 16 involving three suspected road bullies, aged between 21 and 27, who allegedly assaulted a man, in his 40s, in Jalan Demak.
