Husam said the step was necessary, not only because it was just constantly brought up by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but also because it involves the prople.
"1MDB involves all of us and our children, more than it involves Tun Dr Mahathir," said Husam.
The Salor assemblyman said the strategic development company's debts were the biggest issue facing the country and its seriousness should not be ignored.
"1MDB debts are growing and the company's is barely four years old," he said.
"What if Najib is allowed to run the country for four years without anything being done about it?"
He also said that urgency on the issue was also important for fear that Dr Mahathir's age would not permit him to see resolution on the matter.
Husam added that the younger generation should also be made aware of the problem.
"Just like Dr Mahathir, we have to ask where is the money? Is it for some countries? For some individuals? For political funding?" he said.
Husam said because of what he had mentioned, he hoped that MPs from Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Nasional (BN) would join forces in making the no-confidence motion a reality.
"Although it seems like Dr Mahathir's attack is aimed at strengthening Umno and BN, our goals (as PR) is to save the country from getting into trouble, by eliminating the cause."
He said Najib's silence on the issue could only mean that there were some truths in the allegations made.
Najib had taken part in an interview on TV3 earlier this month to address some of the issues raised by Dr Mahathir, but the former prime minister however said Najib had still left a lot unanswered and continued to speak out against him.
On Saturday, Dr Mahathir told the forum at a club in Kuala Lumpur that he would not forgive Najib for the RM42 billion that 1MDB has incurred as debts, raising concerns over 1MDB's business deals, including the purchase of several power assets and government-owned land.
He had also repeated his call for Najib to resign and make way for a new prime minister.
