The new Felda D'Saji Sdn Bhd (D'Saji) restaurant at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur, which is wholly-owned by Felda and Koperasi Permodalan Felda Bhd, has already received 70 bookings, including 15 for wedding ceremonies.
Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said D'Saji had built a new building at the site of the Titiwangsa floating restaurant, abandoned four years ago, at a cost of RM8 million.
It can accommodate 1,700 guests at any one time.
It will also have cultural shows at night, Isa said at the opening ceremony of the restaurant and launch of its Ramadan buffet last night.
He added that the company would also be opening two more branches in Putrajaya and Kajang.
A branch would also be opened at the Grand Plaza Service Apartment in Bayswater, London, in September, he added.
He said the company was also identifying the location for the opening of a branch in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
At present, D Saji has two restaurants in Saudi Arabia, namely at Mecca and Jeddah.
Touching on the Ramadan buffet, Isa said Felda had four locations for it, namely at the Dewan Perdana Felda, Jalan Semarak, D Saji KL Titiwangsa, Felda Villa Restaurant at Jalan Maktab and Penchala Hostel, at Kampung Sungai Pencala.
He said this time, the menu was based on the Nusantra concept and would include "Padang" dishes and "Nasi Ambeng".
