PETALING JAYA - Recent attempts by certain quarters to stir racial sentiments prompted a group of young Malaysians to embark on a simple undertaking to spread the message of unity and harmony.
In the video which has since gone viral on social media, several youths are seen standing blindfolded in different locations in the Klang Valley armed with placards urging people to give them a hug or a high-five if they agree with the words written on it – "Saya Bangsa Malaysia. I am Malaysian First, then I am Chinese. Hug me if you agree".
Their initiative seems to have received support from many Malaysians, who stopped to hug and give them high-fives.
Many netizens also took to social media to praise their initiative.
One netizen thanked the group for their initiative, and said their efforts serves as proof that there is a better tomorrow for everyone.
He ended his tribute by saying that he is Malaysian first and urged for an end to racism. - Sundaily
