Apart from DAP lawmaker Tony Pua, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has also been a staunch critic of 1MDB.
But when asked if he was looking forward to replacing Pua in a debate with 1MDB president Arul Kanda, the Pandan MP quipped how the two were challenged in the follicle sense.
"Not really (looking forward to it), both of us botak (bald) anyway. It's not a good sight on TV," he told reporters at Parliament.
On a more serious note, Rafizi said he had discussed the matter with Pua before, but would leave it to the Pakatan leadership to decide who would debate Arul.
"Pakatan can find a replacement easily. It is not difficult to debate against the indefensible," he said.
Rafizi said Pakatan might discuss the matter tonight and reveal their decision tomorrow morning.
He said the matter of who would debate the 1MDB executive however is not that important.
"There is a bigger issue than who is replacing Pua. The bigger picture is the attempt to shut Pua's mouth from speaking about 1MDB," the PKR secretary-general said.
Earlier today Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia ruled that Pua must either quit the Public Accounts Committee or abstain from the 1MDB probe if he wants to debate Arul.
Pandikar said this is to uphold the PAC's integrity and to avoid the ongoing probe into 1MDB from being derailed. -Mkini
