Lovebirds detained over vehicle break-ins at mosques

Terengganu CID chief Wan Abd Aziz says couple and their 'child' would enter the compounds of mosques during prayer time.
Wan-Abd-Aziz-Wan-Hamzah
MARANG: A pair of lovebirds have been arrested in connection with 13 cases of vehicle break-ins at various mosques in Terengganu and Kelantan.
Terengganu CID chief ACP Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah said the duo was nabbed around 2.30pm on Monday at Chabang Tiga, Kuala Terengganu.
Police seized 69 cards comprising ATM cards, credit cards and several identity cards from the suspects, as well as a screwdriver, spanner, mobile phone, laptop and a Perodua Myvi, he told a media conference here yesterday.
He said, the male suspect, aged 29, and his partner, 32, were also believed to be responsible for smashing the windscreen of a car parked in the compound of a mosque in Marang at about 6.25am last Sunday.
Wan Abd Aziz said the couple would enter the compound of the mosque during prayer time. They would be accompanied by a child to better deceive the public.
He said preliminary checks revealed that the woman, who is from Terengganu, had three previous records for theft and drug-related offences. -FMT
