KUALA LUMPUR: An ex-convict thought he could get away with stealing from a surau at a shopping centre in Subang Jaya by disguising himself in women’s burqa clothing here on Saturday but it was not good enough.
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the suspect, a local man, aged 21, dressed in a black burqa had entered the female surau at the shopping centre at around 8.40pm.
The security guard detained the suspect who was behaving suspiciously and seized a wallet, cash amounting to RM408.30 as well as a mobile phone owned by a 19-year-old girl who was in the surau,” he said when contacted here today.
According to Azlin, initial investigations revealed that the suspect had just been released from Kajang Prison in early February and had a criminal record for drugs and theft.
The arrest of the man who disguised as a woman went viral on social media yesterday. -FMT
