PAS grassroots: Kit Siang ‘racist’, Dr M ‘robber’, Muhyiddin ‘homewrecker’

Selangor PAS grassroots have made their apparent dislike of DAP, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) very clear, as evidenced during an event at the party’s headquarters today.
While submitting a memorandum to the PAS central committee today to urge the Islamist party to cut off ties with any party which has relations with DAP and Amanah - the grassroots members brought along with them banners showcasing the faces of top Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu leaders.
One banner reads ‘Enemy of Malays/Islam (Racist) - Dr Mahathir (Mohamad) said’, with the face of DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, and another ‘The reason my marriage was wrecked - Nika Gee’s husband said’, with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin’s face.
The faces of Mahathir and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu have the words ‘Nation’s Chief Robber - Mohamad Sabu said’ and ‘Party Traitor - Lim Guan Eng said’ respectively.
Despite the allegations on each banner, the PAS grassroots made sure to use the accompanying descriptions for each allegation, using purported quotes once made by the above-mentioned leaders against each other.
The quote used by the PAS grassroots against Muhyiddin was purportedly made by former deputy public prosecutor Stanley Clement Augustin who claimed in a statutory declaration that his wife, Nika Gee Siew Yee, had had a relationship with Muhyiddin since the latter’s time as the Johor menteri besar.
Muhyiddin had however stressed that the allegation against him was untrue.
The memorandum today was submitted to PAS information chief Nasrudin Hassan, in front of the banners placed at the PAS headquarters today.
Nasrudin later told reporters that the matter will be decided upon during the party’s upcoming muktamar in April.
‘Time that PAS stands on its own’
The PAS grassroots, numbering to about 10 of them, had urged PAS to review its ties with PKR which they described as a “thorn in the side”.
“With the general election coming, we feel it is time that PAS stands on its own without being disturbed by other parties wrought with their own problems,” said Nasiruddin Mohamed, who led the group today.
“We are quite uncomfortable with PAS now, we could feel the hatred.”
On the Harapan and Bersatu leaders, Nasiruddin criticised the DAP for its stance that objects to the bill which seeks to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355).
As for Mahathir, Nasiruddin said it is as though the former premier was now in control of the opposition, while Muhyiddin’s personal affairs had clearly affected the opposition.
Urging PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to not be deceived by other opposition leaders, Nasiruddin claimed that this is because they are “liars”.
Hadi, two weeks ago, confirmed that his party will not work with Bersatu in the coming general election as long as the latter maintains ties with DAP and Amanah.

As for relations with PKR, the PAS president said the party will decide on the matter at the coming muktamar on April 28 in Alor Setar.
Despite PAS’ decision to sever ties with DAP, it is still holding posts in the PKR-led Selangor administration, which includes DAP exco members.
PKR is also a member of the Pakatan Harapan coalition in partnership with DAP and Amanah.- Mkini
