PAS leader: Indeed, children are at Act 355 rally

Children, including those from religious schools, are at PAS' rally to support amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.
In a post on Facebook yesterday, Pahang PAS head Rosli Abdul Jabar said their participation will teach them to love their religion.
"Not only Tahfiz (people who memorise the Quran), religious schools or underaged kids will be present, even those still in the wombs will be brought (to the rally) by followers of Islam.
"The want to educate (their children) to love their religion so they won't reject it when they are adults.
"Children who love their religion are much more noble than adults who hate their religion," said Rosli.
Rosli was responding to a Facebook post by one Awang Al Kenit who wrote that underaged Tahfiz students and juveniles would be at the rally.About 30 unaccompanied children were spotted at Masjid Jamek earlier today and they confirmed that they were Tahfiz students aged between 9 and 17.

They told Malaysiakini that they were from Kuantan.
At 3.30pm today, the estimated 9,000 participants at the rally at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur were mostly adults.
They are rallying in support of the amendments to increase the Syariah Court's penalty cap which is currently at maximum three years' imprisonment, RM5,000 fine and six strokes of the rotan.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, who tabled the Private Member's bill, sought a new cap of RM100,000 fine, 30 years' jail and 100 strokes of the rotan.- Mkini
