Wise to heed royal dressing down, Salleh tells Dr M

Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak has advised Dr Mahathir Mohamad to heed the scathing admonishment from Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Salleh argued the fact that the ruler was forced to rebuke Mahathir showed the former prime minister had crossed the line of decency, which the sultan could no longer tolerate.
“Today, the Sultan of Johor gave the worst-ever dressing down to who he referred to as a demented-leader, who many believe His Highness meant Dr Mahathir.
“And this is not the first time Mahathir has been given an earful by His Highness, mind you. It would be wise for Mahathir to heed what His Highness said.
“Mahathir now appears unable to separate his personal grudge from the interest of the nation. Mahathir is bringing ridicule upon himself and he has only himself to blame for it,” Salleh said in a blog post.
This morning, when officiating an event in Johor, the sultan unleashed a salvo on a leader, whom he claimed had in the past accused the Malays of suffering from short-term memory, but was now displaying similar traits.

"Previously, he said the opposition was his arch enemy, but now he can sit with them at the same table and be good friends. Previously, he said the Western media cooked up stories, but now he says their stories are factual.
"So if he is not a 'pelupa' (someone with short-term memory), perhaps he is a little senile due to the age factor," Sultan Ibrahim said.
Citing a Malay saying which uses one's clothing to emphasise against interfering in other people's affairs, the sultan said: "Jangan sibuk tepi kain orang. Lebih baik betulkan kain sendiri yang telah reput dan koyak (Don't look at others, better to mend your own clothes, which are torn and tattered)."- Mkini
