Former Petaling Jaya City Council member Peter Chong has returned to Malaysia, according to the police.
At about 1pm today, Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar today tweeted photos of Chong, in what appeared to be the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"Congratulations @PDRMsia Kuala Lumpur. 'Missing' Peter Chong is back from Pattaya, this afternoon," said Khalid, without providing further details.
Chong was reportedly missing since April 5. The police later established that he rode a bus to Thailand and was not abducted.
Some media outlets theorised that Chong may have been facing financial difficulties.
Prior to Chong's disappearance, he had wrote on Facebook about his encounter with a mysterious stranger who gave him a very cryptic warning about people going missing.- Mkini
