Rep offers Ku Nan ‘five steps to reduce prices’

Balakong assemblyperson Eddie Ng has told the government to implement five measures to bring down the prices of goods, after Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor blamed it on a supposed opposition conspiracy.
Ng, from DAP, said the government does not appear to be on the right track to reduce the cost of living, and this is worsened when cabinet ministers are in denial on the true causes of the worsening economy.
“If the government sincerely wants to resolve this, the government must focus on these five issues […]
“I’m confident that the price of goods and Malaysia’s economy will be better if the government implements the five measures successfully,” he said in a statement today.
These are to: Abolish GST, restore investor confidence by resolving the 1MDB scandal, eliminate graft and misappropriation, restore the value of the Ringgit, and reduce petrol prices.
Ng was responding to Tengku Adnan’s statement yesterday, where the minister blamed the opposition for increasing food prices.
Tengku Adnan claimed that opposition parties are not part of food traders association, where they colluded to negate the government’s efforts to keep prices down.
Ng said Tengku Adnan’s statement vindicates his belief that the minister is a ‘clown’ that issues statements that confuse the people.
“This is an allegation that is not only baseless but is ridiculous and makes no sense. Everyone knows that inflation and the increase of all goods prices - not only of food at restaurants - are because of burdensome federal government policies.

“This is simple logic, but curiously the minister does not understand. Does Ku Nan truly not understand, or he is doing this on purpose?” he said, referring to Tengku Adnan by his monicker.
He challenged Tengku Adnan to compare a list of restaurant operators to a list of political party members.
He said he believes that of the operators who are involved in politics, a majority of them would turn out to be members in BN component parties.- Mkini
