Vote for the lesser evil, says Zakir Naik

Indian Islamic preacher Zakir Naik believe that voters, when confronted with two bad choices, should choose the lesser evil.

Speaking at dialogue organised by Malay rights pressure group Perkasa, Zakir said voters should also choose those who are close to the Quran and the Sunnah.

"If you find that both Muslims are doing wrong, you choose the lesser evil.

"This is also in the Quran, which talks about believers and non-believers.

"If two believers is fighting, you choose the believer that is more close to the Quran and Sunnah," he said.

Zakir was responding to a question which described Malaysia as having only two choices and that one party is led by someone who does "bad things" but the party won't remove him.

He argued that both competing factions require support from non-Muslims and had sought Zakir's advice on how to vote.
