Flight Z2 612 was given landing priority and touched down safely in Manila ahead of schedule.
PETALING JAYA: An AirAsia plane was forced to make an emergency landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) yesterday after experiencing engine failure immediately after take-off.
Flight Z2 612 from Davao City to Manila was scheduled to land at NAIA at 11.30am, but was given priority after pilot Allan Roque requested an emergency landing at 10.47am.
According to Inquirer.net, the plane landed safely at about 11am.
Roque was reported as saying that the plane’s right engine had been damaged by the intense heat.
The Airbus 320 was carrying 159 passengers and six crew members, none of whom were injured. -FMT
