Kuala Lumpur CID chief says police have received two reports from two female victims against the man, known as 'Datuk Ivan'.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police yesterday arrested a man known as “Datuk Ivan” who allegedly deceived and raped women he met via WeChat.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said the 37-year-old self-employed man was picked up in the Dang Wangi area at 6.15pm.
“So far, police have received two reports from two female victims, aged 30 and 25, against the individual,” he said in a statement here today.
Rusdi said the first report was lodged on June 9, on an incident on March 6, 2016, while the second case report was received on June 14 relating to an incident on May 4 this year.
He said a police check showed the suspect did not possess any datukship.
The cases are being investigated under Section 354 and Section 377 CA of the Penal Code for outraging modesty and rape.
The suspect has been remanded for six days from today to assist in the investigation. -FMT
