T Nhaveen, who was bullied by several teenagers and declared brain dead in the Penang Hospital has died.
According to Northeast police chief Anuar Osman, Nhaveen died at 6pm at the hospital's ICU where he was warded.
"We received a call from the hospital saying that Nhaveen died at 6pm," said Anuar.
Nhaveen was placed on life support upon admission to the Penang Hospital on Friday night.
His friend, 19-year-old T Previin, is being treated for facial injuries sustained in the incident late Friday night.
Nhaveen was reportedly attacked by five teenagers, who pummelled him with their helmets, before taking him to a field close to Jalan Kaki Bukit in Bukit Gelugor, George Town, Penang, nearby his house.
Nhaveen was found unconscious in a pool of blood at the field by his uncle.
He was also reportedly suffering internal bleeding in his head and abdomen.
Penang police have since arrested five suspects, aged between 16 and 18, over the attack.

Earlier today, India’s Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has offered moral support for the 18-year-old who was fighting for his life for the last six days.
“Dear Nhaveen, prayers & love for a speedy recovery. Let all acts of savagery end & people come to their senses. Peace!,” Rahman tweeted today.
The message comes two days after online portal Free Malaysia Today quoted Nhaveen’s relative as saying that the teenager aspires to be a famous music composer like Rahman and was supposed to leave for Kuala Lumpur on Monday to enroll in a college for a music-composing course.
His family members also described Nhaveen as being a talented musician. -Mkini
