Guan Eng plugs Umno man's water revenue claim

Penang Umno Youth chief Rafizal Abd Rahim was criticised today for claiming that water surcharges from the Penang Water Supply Corporation go directly into the account of the chief minister's office.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said Rafizal's claim was a "malicious slander" and he urged the youth leader to be ashamed of himself for telling such lies.
Lim said all water revenues are channelled back to the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) for projects to improve the state's water supply.
"Does he (Rafizal) has any proof? Please show proof instead of making baseless allegations which can imperil the CEO.
"PBAPP is a public listed company under the Bursa Saham, there are strict rules to follow," Lim told at a press conference in Penang today.
During the press conference, PBAPP's CEO Jaseni Maidinsa denied any money from PBAPP was credited into the chief minister's office and explained how the revenues were spent.

"It goes back to PBAPP to fund our capital expenditure, to upgrade and manage our infrastructure so that we do not need to conduct any water rationing in Penang," he said.
According to Umno Online, Rafizal said the collection of water conservation surcharge was credited into the chief minister's office.
He demanded Lim, who is PBA Holdings chairperson, to reveal how the revenue from the water conservation surcharge was spent.- Mkini
