Lee Hsien Loong releases SD on late father's house

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong today released a summary of statutory declarations to the Ministerial Committee on the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's will pertaining to his house at 38 Oxley Road.
This followed his siblings' statement issued on June 14 in which they referred to his representations to the Ministerial Committee, in particular, the questions he raised on the circumstances leading to Lee Kuan Yew's execution of the last will and the inclusion of the demolition of the clause.
"They claimed that these are baseless accusations and misrepresentations, which they had refuted in 2015. They also alleged that I had motives for raising those questions. This is untrue," he said in a posting on his Facebook.
His posting was attached with the summary of statutory declarations.
Lee said the cabinet secretary had confirmed that the "Committee had received representations from [me] on various facts and circumstances in relation to how Mr Lee's last will was prepared, and that my siblings had not responded to the Committee's questions about how the last will was prepared and 'the role that Mrs Lee Suet Fern and lawyers from her law firm played in preparing the Last Will.
"He added that my siblings have said 'they will only be able to reply at the earliest by the end of June', and have not confirmed that they will put their position in the form of a statutory declaration, as I have done," Lee wrote.
Lee noted that he had hoped that he could defer considering this matter further until after he returned from leave.
"But my siblings have continued to give interviews and make allegations against me. This makes it untenable for me not to respond publicly to the allegations and to explain why I have serious questions about how my father's Last Will was prepared.
"These questions are also directly relevant to the Committee's work in establishing what Mr Lee Kuan Yew's thinking and wishes were in relation to the House.
"I have therefore asked my lawyers to release this edited summary of what I have told the Committee on this matter in my statutory declarations," wrote Lee by ending his posting with his initial LHL.
Lee's siblings Dr Lee Wei Ling and Lee Hsien Yang had on June 14 at about 2 am issued a six-page public statement on their Facebook with a headline "What has happened to Lee Kuan Yew's values?"

Most of the statement focused on Lee Kuan Yew's wish to see his home at 38 Oxley Road to be demolished by his three children.
In releasing the summary of statutory declarations which contained "facts and matters", the prime minister highlighted nine "serious questions" on how Lee Kuan Yew's last will was prepared.
Lee Kuan Yew who passed away on March 23, 2015, made six wills before his last will of Dec 17, 2013.
