The reason why Anwar lost his case is not because Najib paid Shafee RM9.5 million, as alleged. Even if Najib had paid Shafee a mere RM1,000 Anwar would still have been sent to jail. Anwar was found guilty because he refused to testify and defend himself, plus he was not able to offer an alibi after saying he has an alibi and has 12 witnesses to support his alibi (his wife included).

The reason why Sarawak Report published the fake news regarding Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak paying lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah RM9.5 million to ensure that Anwar Ibrahim is convicted and is sent to jail for Sodomy II has finally been revealed. Anwar wants to use this fake news to try to get his conviction overturned.

Anwar realises that His Majesty the Agong is not going to grant him a pardon (anyway, Anwar never applied for a pardon so how can His Majesty grant him something he never asked for). Hence without a pardon Anwar cannot contest the general election until after 2025 when he is about 80 years old or so. Hence also, in other words, Anwar is never going to be the seventh Prime Minister of Malaysia (or even the eight, ninth or tenth).

Anwar’s only and last hope is to try to get his conviction overturned. And the way he hopes to do this is to allege that Najib paid Shafee RM9.5 million. If I were given the task of making sure that Anwar gets convicted for sodomy, I would not do it for RM9.5 million. Short of RM30 million it would be no deal.

If they can pay Zahid Mat Arip and the the PKR ‘Dirty Dozen’ RM25 million to defect, and if they can pay DAP’s Hee Yit Foong RM25 million to defect and bring down the Pakatan Rakyat Perak state government, why would I accept just RM9.5 million to ensure that Anwar goes to jail? That job would easily be worth RM30 million, plus expenses.

Anyway, even if it is true that Najib paid Shafee RM9.5 million, so what? “The legal challenge is for breach of his constitutional rights,” said Anwar’s lawyer, N. Surendran. Breach of constitutional rights? Why would paying Shafee RM9.5 million be a breach of Anwar’s constitutional rights? Where the hell did Surendran get his law degree from?

It was the judges who sent Anwar to jail, not Shafee. If the judges believed Shafee’s argument more than they believed Anwar’s lawyer’s argument, that can only mean Shafee is a brilliant lawyer while Anwar has idiots working for him. Why did Anwar not employ better lawyers? Or is Surendran saying that the judges are corrupt and were bought? Is so then say it!

In short, Anwar sent himself to jail due to his weak defence and due to the bunch of idiots working for him. It was a suicide mission from the word go. Anwar had “I am guilty” written all over his face and in everything he did. Even I could have got Anwar convicted in spite of the fact I did not go to law school.

Anwar got Sarawak Report to publish this fake news of Najib paying Shafee RM9.5 million because he wants to argue this so-called ‘fact’ as grounds for his acquittal. Let us see how far Anwar is going to go with this fake news defence strategy. I bet Anwar is going to suffer yet another of his many defeats. Why won’t Anwar just accept the fact he got caught with his pants down, plus due to his own stupidity, and sit in jail until 2020?

Lee Kuan Yew said Anwar is a victim of a honey-trap, meaning Anwar is guilty of sodomy

Lee Kuan Yew explained it well when he said Anwar is a victim of a honey-trap. That means they laid a trap and Anwar walked right into it. The issue is not whether Shafee or the police did a sting operation. The issue is Anwar got stung for poking Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan instead of keeping his pecker in his pants. So it has nothing to do with that fake RM9.5 million news, which Sarawak Report is so good at spinning.

Anwar wants his sodomy conviction declared unlawful

His lawyer says this legal challenge has been filed due to ad-hoc prosecutor Muhammad Shafee Abdullah allegedly being paid RM9.5 million.

(FMT) – Jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim will on Friday file a suit to nullify his sodomy conviction on grounds that the prime minister allegedly paid an ad-hoc prosecutor RM9.5 million.

“The legal challenge is for breach of his constitutional rights,” his lawyer N. Surendran told FMT via WhatsApp.

Last week, Sarawak Report alleged that the money was paid to lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah from Najib Razak’s account.

It is learnt that Anwar will be seeking a declaration that his conviction by the Court of Appeal on March 7, 2014 is ultra vires Article 5(1) of the Federal Constitution.

Did N. Surendran pass his law exam?

A three-man bench chaired by Balia Yusuf Wahi sentenced Anwar to five years’ jail just when the then Permatang Pauh MP was ready to contest in a by-election for the Kajang state seat.

He committed the sexual misconduct on his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, at the Desa Damansara condominium on June 26, 2008.

Anwar will also ask for another declaration that the Feb 10, 2015 Federal Court decision to affirm the Court of Appeal ruling be also set aside.

Anwar was acquitted of the charge by the High Court on Jan 12, 2012 after his defence was called.

At the trial stage, the prosecution was led by then solicitor-general Mohd Yusof Zainal Abidin.

Following Yusof’s early retirement, Shafee was given a licence to prosecute the case. He was appointed by then attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail on July 11, 2013 to lead the prosecution team.

The whistleblower website further claimed it had seen documents from investigators which alleged that Najib paid the money using funds he received from state-owned SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1MDB.

Shafee had allegedly received the funds from Najib on Sept 11, 2013 and on Feb 17, 2014.

On July 22, 2013, after a Court of Appeal proceeding, Shafee told reporters he was paid a “minimal sum” due to the existence of a contract between him and the government.

“That is very officious in terms of remuneration. Just as I am being appointed in other positions for law, I will do it even if there is no emolument. I consider this a public service,” he had said.

He dismissed claims that his appointment as an ad-hoc DPP was “controversial”.

FMT’s attempts to contact the lawyer have not been successful so far although several messages sent to his WhatsApp were read, as indicated by the double-blue ticks on the sender’s phone.
