I know the truth, says Pak Lah on forex RCI

Former premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi offered a cryptic response when asked about the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) probing the Bank Negara foreign exchange (forex) losses.
However, he declined to elaborate and refused to entertain questions on the issue.
"I don't need to comment. No need. I know," he said when asked if the RCI was established to exact political revenge against his predecessor Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“We know, we know," he added to a question if he knew the truth about the commission.
"I have been (retired) for a long time.... There is no need (for me) to say anything anymore," he said when pressed further.
Abdullah, who is better known as Pak Lah, succeeded Mahathir in 2003.
However, Mahathir played an instrumental role in forcing his hand-picked successor to step down in 2009 to be replaced by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Mahathir, who is now chairperson of the opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan, is currently on the warpath against Najib.
Bank Negara incurred the forex losses in the 90s when Mahathir was prime minister. The setting up of an RCI to probe a scandal which happened close to two decades ago led critics to question if it is politically motivated.
The opposition has also claimed that the RCI is an attempt to deflect attention from the 1MDB scandal.
Meanwhile, Abdullah also declined to comment on the Inland Revenue Board's (IRB) raid against three of Mahathir's children.

Mahathir in response to the raid said IRB should instead go after Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his family.
The former premier added Najib's son and son-in-law Riza Aziz should be raided as well.
Malaysiakini reported that the firms linked to his sons Mokhzani, Mirzan and Mukhriz were raided on Tuesday.
In May, Mahathir complained that IRB was targeting his associates. - Mkini
