PKR Balik Pulau youth chief Ahmad Razaaim Azimi dropped a planned flash mob gig ahead of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's visit to the parliamentary constituency.
It is learned that Ahmad Razaaim and several others were planning a flash mob to call for PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's release from a five-year jail term in Sungai Buloh for a sodomy conviction in Feb 2014.
Najib is in Balik Pulau for a "meet the people session" and to officiate the Umno Balik Pulau branch AGM.
When contacted, Ahmad Razaaim said a special branch officer approached him when the group of about 15 gathered at the Balik Pulau Sports Complex.
"He took me about 500 metres away from my team and strongly advised me not to go ahead with the flash mob," said Ahmad Razaaim, 34.
"We decided to comply with the advice and aborted our rally, and I was released after that," he added.
On Aug 17, police nabbed 18 PKR youth leaders and supporters including state PKR youth chief Asrol Sani Abd Wahab and Seberang Perai municipal councillor Ong Jing Cheng ahead of Najib's visit to Permatang Pauh. - Mkini
