Amanah gets eviction notice, may lose HQ in Kelantan

Amanah may lose its headquarters in Kelantan after the party was served with an eviction notice.
The plot of land in question, located at the intersection of Jalan Salor-Pasir Mas and Jalan Tendong-Mulong, houses the Wisma Tok Guru, which serves as Amanah vice-president Husam Musa's office as Salor state assemblyperson.
Husam had turned the two-storey building into Amanah's headquarters in Kelantan.
A source close to Husam confirmed to Malaysiakini that the eviction notice had been received.
"But we have yet to receive the exact details, perhaps Husam will address it soon," said the source.
Malaysiakini is attempting to contact Husam for response.
The source said that the plot of land is owned by the widow of the late Ahmad Rosli Ibrahim, the former Salor state assemblyperson. The eviction notice was issued in her name.
Ahmad Rosli, despite being from Umno, was a maverick who was in the past part of Semangat 46, an Umno splinter party.
He also had friendly relations with Husam, granting permission for the Amanah man to utilise the building as his office.
The land on which Kelantan Amanah’s headquarters sits had come under the spotlight after Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, PAS' Meranti state assemblyperson, claimed it belonged to the PAS-led Kelantan government.
Nassuruddin had accused Amanah of using its assets despite being a splinter party.
"I checked, the land belongs to the state government. If you want to quit PAS, get out. But why do you want to take PAS' office?" he said.
Husam had used the same building as the Salor state assemblyperson office before his expulsion from PAS and entry into Amanah.
However, Ahmad Rosli, prior to his death, had disputed Nassuruddin's claim that the plot of land belonged to the state government.

He revealed that he had purchased the land in his wife’s name, Haripah Dollah, and added that granting permission for the land to be used for the Salor state assemblyperson's office was a personal favour to Husam, not PAS.
"I gave approval to Husam as he is a champion of the people and this land is for his use. I never granted it to PAS," he had said at an Amanah ceramah.
But with Ahmad Rosli’s passing in July, the fate of Wisma Tok Guru is now in limbo.- Mkini
