Azmin chides Zahid for ‘twisting’ statement on Interpol

Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali has chided Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi over the latter's denial that the police were actively seeking Interpol's help to locate 1MDB-linked businessperson Jho Low.
Taking to Twitter, Azmin said Zahid's "attempt at twisting the facts is futile".
"Just look at the transcript. Now, who's faking the news?" Azmin said.
The PKR deputy president was referring to the transcript of what the deputy prime minister said in Parliament published in Malaysiakini'sarticle regarding Zahid's denial.

Zahid yesterday told the Dewan Rakyat that police had sought Interpol's help to locate Low.
However, he later said his remarks had been "manipulated", and clarified that the request for Interpol's help was no longer active as the case files involving Low were closed.
In a subsequent tweet, Azmin asked if Zahid had been "scolded" by his "boss".
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua described Zahid's denial as a "U-turn", and this should be clarified in the Dewan Rakyat.
"We call upon Zahid to come to Parliament at the next possible opportunity to provide an official clarification on his answers and subject himself to further questions from the MPs to ensure that honour and respect for the parliamentary institution be redeemed," Pua said. -Mkini
