Why ban ganja? There are no statistics to show that even a single person has died in road accidents due to getting high on ganja. Going by official government statistics they die only from drunk driving.
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Jamal Yunos going berserk in front of the Selangor State Secretariat building today seems to be the main focus of the mainstream media. Even the police said they are going to investigate Jamal for the crime of abuse to liquor, more serious than the crime of abuse of liquor.
Actually what’s the big deal? They used to do this in the US as well back in the 1920s and found that it just made many people like Al Capone rich. The more the government smashed the liquor barrels the richer Al Capone got. Eventually they ended Prohibition and legalised liquor and Al Capone went bankrupt.
So banning things is not good. It just makes people rich. And if nothing is banned then everyone becomes poor, which is better.
Anyway, liquor is bad. Imagine in some countries the accident rate due to drunk driving is as high as 50%. Even in China where the people ride bicycles the accident rate is 4%. In the US and Canada it is more than 30%. So banning liquor makes sense in situations such as these.
But then the government does not ban liquor. Instead they ban ganja, which is why we should vote for parties that promise to legalise ganja if they come to power.
Why ban ganja? There are no statistics to show that even a single person has died in road accidents due to getting high on ganja. Going by official government statistics they die only from drunk driving.
Those drivers who smoke ganja are safer than drivers who drink. When you are drunk you drive at 100 thinking you are driving at just 30. When you are high on ganja you drive at 30 thinking you are driving at 100.
Drunk drivers are aggressive. Drivers high on ganja are happy. So ban liquor if you want but why go and ban ganja? And ganja is halal for vegetarians and eco-friendly greenies.
