Boy expelled from school found hanged from ceiling fan

hang-suicide
PETALING: A 15-year-old schoolboy expelled from school was found hanged from a ceiling fan later, Star Online reported.
It said the student was found dead at home in Taman Klang Utama at 1.40pm yesterday.
The mother made the discovery when he did not come down from his room upstairs.
The news portal said the teenager had gone to school with his parents about 11am to discuss some disciplinary problems.
The parents were informed that the son would be expelled for threatening other schoolmates.
When they returned home about 1pm, the teenager went upstairs to his room.
The portal said North Klang district police chief ACP Mazelan Paijan confirmed no foul play was involved.
The incident comes days after Women, Family and Community Development Ministry Rohani Abdul Karim had proposed that suspension from school, as a punishment for troubled students, be replaced with rehabilitation or transition classes.
She said the matter was brought to the cabinet meeting and hoped the education ministry would pay attention to the proposal.
Rohani said all ministries had been directed to propose intervention programmes to address current social problems, including wayward students.
Following that, Geshina Ayu Mat Saat, a psychologist and criminologist, had warned that troubled teens may view suspension from school as a reward or badge of honour for bad behaviour. -FMT
