PETALING JAYA: Thousands of weekend shoppers were forced to evacuate the Mid Valley Megamall this evening after a fire broke out on the lower ground floor of the shopping centre.
The Fire and Rescue Department say the fire was brought under control in less than 20 minutes.
Some mall visitors uploaded images and video clips of shoppers rushing to leave the mall amid thick smoke and the deafening sounds of the fire alarm.
There is no confirmation of the source of the fire, but it is believed to have started from a food outlet located at the South Court section of the mall.
