The 14th general election results were gazetted yesterday (May 28) said the Election Commission.
Petitions to challenge election results can be filed within 21 days from the date of the gazetting.
Effectively, this would mean that petitions to annul election results must be filed by June 15.
The EC also urged candidates to file their election expense reports within 31 days from yesterday.
Failure to do so will result in an offence under Section 23 (1) of the Election Offences Act 1954.
Under Section 11 of the same law, a person who violates the act can be liable to a maximum fine of RM5,000 and a jail term not exceeding two years. -Mkini
