Amanah's Khairuddin Abu Hassan said he has lodged a formal complaint at Interpol's headquarters in Lyon, France with regards to Low Taek Jho's and Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil's roles in the 1MDB scandal.
"I have spoken at length with the legal division of Interpol about putting a 'red notice' to track and extradite them to Malaysia as soon as possible," he said in a statement today.
International investigations suggest that Low, a businessperson, was instrumental in putting into place the structures that allegedly allowed the misappropriation of 1MDB funds.
Nik Faisal was an official of SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1MDB.
Khairuddin said extraditing the two individuals were a priority as they were key to unravelling the 1MDB affair.
"If we can bring them back, I am confident every detail of the 1MDB scandal can be identified," he said.
He also stressed that the duo must be held accountable for their actions.
Khairuddin, a loyalist to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, had lodged reports across the globe over the 1MDB scandal when Pakatan Harapan was still part of the opposition.
The then BN government under Najib Abdul Razak subsequently detained Khairuddin under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 for supposed "economic sabotage". -Mkini
