Report says safe in Najib's home forced open, cash found


Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's home in Jalan Langgak Duta, Kuala Lumpur is still abuzz with activity a day after police seized a massive haul of cash, jewellery, and handbags from a condominum unit linked to him.
Earlier this evening, officers from the MACC served Najib a notice summoning him to the graft-buster's headquarters on Tuesday over their probe into SRC International.

10.50pm: Langgak Duta - Malay daily Sinar Harian reports that two locksmiths have opened a safe in Najib's home which reportedly had been locked for 20 years.
"The task of opening the safe is complete and cash was found inside," a source told the paper.
However, it is reported that there another eight safes in Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, are still unopened.
10.35pm: Langgak Duta - An entourage of students from the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz in Keramat leaves the former premier's home after breaking fast there.
The school is the one which was involved in a tragic fire which killed 23 of its students last September.
The school's headmaster, Mohd Zahid Mahmood told the media that everything in the house was calm.
Asked on the condition of Najib's wife Rosmah, he replied: "Everything is as normal."
It is unclear if Rosmah had followed Najib who broke his fast at his mother's house earlier tonight.
Meanwhile, police from Sentul leave at around 10.45pm and refuse requests for comments from the media.
9.30pm: Langgak Duta - Four police cars arrive at Najib's home.
According to officers stationed outside, the entourage includes Sentul district police chief R Munusamy and Sentul criminal investigation department chief Abdul Malik Hasim.

Ten minutes later, Najib arrives home after breaking fast with his mother Rahah Mohammad Noah at her residence. -Mkini
