Yoursay: Without change, PAS will remain a provincial party

YOURSAY | ‘PAS should stop living in its bubble and run Terengganu and Kelantan properly.’
Anonymous_3e86: PAS vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah’s statements show how incapable the Islamic party is at governing a country.
A country will always have its own problems. Not wanting to resolve the country’s financial problems only shows that PAS should not, and must not, be given the chance to be in the government.
PAS’ sole aim is to implement hudud, not bringing progress and development to the country. It is bent on bringing the country back to the medieval ages if given the chance to govern the country.
Quigonbond: I like Mohd Amar’s bravado. But if Pakatan Harapan manages to clean up its debt and show a lot of promise as a good government, there would be even less need to vote for PAS.
PAS should stop living in its bubble and run Terengganu and Kelantan properly, if they are able to at all. Otherwise, they can expect Harapan to make significant inroads in those two states in the next five years.
Anonymous 2413471460628504: Isn't this an admission that PAS does not have the wherewithal to govern a country? That they do not have the necessary administrative capabilities? That they do not know how to "bring development, build offices and the like"?
Just compare Kelantan and Penang. Until GE14, both states were opposition governed with very little help from the federal government, yet their level of development shows the vast difference a competent state government makes.
David Dass: Very good, PAS. You can take over the government when all the problems are solved. The rakyat will then want you to take over.
You were not selected this time because the debt was too large. And the rakyat did not consider you capable of running the country and solving the debt problem.
In fact, you – yourself - are not confident of being able to solve the debt problem. That makes you the perfect government to be elected to power when the problems are all solved by the current government.
All over the world, people chuck out governments that solve huge problems facing their countries and put into place governments that have no capacity to solve problems. Yes, that is what ‘democrazies’ are about.
Anonymous_3b6c1f0c: PAS has yet to prove that it can actually manage a state, let alone a nation. PAS has hitherto, failed to govern and administer Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah.
It is so concerned about religious observances that it fails to ensure that it serves the people and bring economic well-being. PAS has failed to show leadership in Kedah and particularly in Kelantan during the floods and the management of issues surrounding the theft of Orang Asli lands.
PAS has failed to question and challenge corruption particularly 1MDB, Mara, Felda and Tabung Haji. PAS was in bed with Umno and may still be in bed with them.
PAS has shown no vision for a better, brighter, more inclusive and future bound Malaysia. PAS is, in fact, myopic.
Indeed, PAS should first reform itself and prove its worth before making any claim to a stake in government.
Tholu: Mohd Amar, do you know what you just admitted to? Let me list them.
1. You have admitted that you are a parasite and a freeloader. You want others to prepare you a bed of roses.
2. You admitted that you are incapable of restructuring and mending an ailing economy and yet you want to rule this country and bring prosperity to the people.
Go bring prosperity to your people in Kelantan and Terengganu first. The infrastructure is in dire straits and the people there seem to be regressing rather than progressing under PAS’ rule. Your piped water is still muddy.
3. You make us wonder if Islamic teachings actually allow this - to let someone do the hard work of improving the economic standards of a nation and then you unceremoniously depose him and enjoy the fruit of his hard work.
Anonymous_5f36841f: Don’t underestimate PAS. It won Kelantan and Terengganu on its own in GE14. Harapan has a big fat zero in both states.
PAS did well, too, in Kedah and Perak. If in GE15, PAS and Umno combine forces against Harapan, they might capture many states and even Putrajaya.
Everything is possible in politics, just like the unpredictable outcomes of GE14.
Dingy: At best, PAS can only hope to get 60% of the Malay support, which would be divided among three coalitions - Harapan, BN and PAS. PAS can never get 40% of non-Malay support.
If Harapan can clear up the huge national debt, why would Malaysians vote for a fanatic Islamic party and change the federal government?
When rural Malaysians wake up from their deep slumber, GE15 will witness the defeat of PAS in Kelantan and Terengganu.
In GE14, the voters had one common aim, that is, to defeat BN. The majority of rural folks in Kelantan and Terengganu voted for PAS.
GE15 will see the majority of Malaysians, be they in urban, semi-urban or rural areas, voting for Harapan if the new federal government can show good governance and set a good example for all.
Lovemalaysia2: Although we can dismiss these comments as deluded and foolish, I doubt Mohd Amar is alone in thinking it.
The best way to consign PAS to history is for Harapan to enforce good governance in the PAS-run states through federal programmes that benefit the people without the involvement of the state representatives.
The voters will soon see their interests are protected by parties not purporting to be defending Islam first and foremost. A good place to start would be in schools where the new focus will be on real learning and not learning by rote.
Anonymous 1850141437301427: PAS is essentially saying that they have no knowledge, skills or ability to solve the nation’s issues or build the economy and yet they dream of governing.
I suppose I, too, can dream of performing brain surgery on selected folks in Malaysia.
Anonymous_3b6c1f0c: So after Harapan solves our debt problems and puts the nation on the right track by eliminating inefficiencies in the economy, racism and religious bigotry, creates a system to help the poor and disadvantaged in society, ensures fairer distribution of wealth, implements mechanisms to prevent abuse of law, establishes good governance, freedom of speech and expression, places our education at high levels and guarantees a future for all Malaysians, and finally, concretises institutional reform and independence, you expect the public to vote for PAS into government? - Mkini
