DESPITE having the blame for Barisan Nasional’s loss in the 14th general election thrust squarely on his shoulders and facing accusations of financial impropriety involving millions, Rosmah Mansor continued to stand by her husband, calling him a “very truthful man”.
During Najib Razak’s surprise birthday celebration at the Parliament building today, Rosmah had nothing but loving words for the former prime minister.
“I wish him all the best and for our family as well.
“I want you all to know that the entire family loves him so much and he is a very truthful man and he is on the right path,” she said.
Najib, who turned 65 today, was surprised with a birthday cake by a group of supporters.
Earlier this month, Najib was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust and one count of using his position for gratification.
The four charges are under the Penal Code and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
All charges carry a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine.
The first charge involves Najib using his post as prime minister and finance minister to receive gratification totalling RM42 million between August 17, 2011 and February 2012.
