BN turns to Najib to help win voters on the last day of Kimanis campaign

KIMANIS POLLS | As the Kimanis by-election campaigning period comes to an end today, BN held 20 ceramah (talks) in their final attempt to win the support of the voters.
BN turned to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak and Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan to help win the voters' hearts.
Speaking to about 500 people, Najib harped on the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) issue saying that the Kimanis by-election is the final opportunity for the people to reject its implementation which will begin in June.
"If Warisan wins the polls, the PSS will be implemented and so we must stand together and make sure Warisan lose.

"There is a possibility that Project IC 2.0 and the Lahad Datu intrusion 2.0 may happen again with the implementation of PSS," he said.
The Pekan MP was referring to the political plot which changed Sabah's political landscape and allowed Umno to take over Sabah in the 1990s.
BN has linked the PSS to the 2013 Lahad Datu intrusion where over 200 militants, calling themselves the "Royal Security Forces of the Sultanate of Sulu" attempted to invade Sabah.
"Don't give them the opportunity to harm your kids. Tonight, if they give you money, just take. If they give you drinks (alcohol), do not take it. Keep it for another day.
"Do not betray the future of the kids and let the nightmare return," he said.
He assured the voters that PSS will not be implemented if Warisan lose the Kimanis polls.
"Trust me, the Harapan and Warisan government will not dare do it," he said.
Najib then cited the government's decision to postpone the Petrol Subsidy Programme this month which resulted in the floating of RON95 petrol price due to the defeat of Tanjung Piai by-election.
He also advised the locals to be mindful of their rights as Sabahans especially in the issue of allowing migrants into the state.
"They are desperate. They want to get more support but in return they sacrifice the interest of the Sabahans," he said.
Warisan's star campaigner Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal's last public appearance was at the house of Warisan member Awang Besar Ahmad, 53 where over 70 people, mostly family members of Awang, gathered and listened to Shafie.
When asked on Warisan's chances, Shafie (above) said he is confident that Warisan will win the by-election tomorrow based on the reaction of the people.
"The signs are good. I have seen more people joining Warisan.
"There is no question who is going to win the by-election. I am sure we will win," he said.
Kimanis is a semi-rural constituency of 29,644 voters where Muslim bumiputeras make up 63.16 percent while the non-Muslim bumiputera comprise 30.67 percent of the voters.
The Kimanis parliamentary seat was declared vacant after the Federal Court, on Dec 2 upheld the Election Court's ruling, nullifying Umno's Anifah Aman’s victory in the 14th general election.
Anifah had won in Kimanis with a razor-thin 156-vote majority in that election.
Umno is represented by Mohamad Alamin, who is contesting under BN's banner, while Karim Bujang is representing Warisan. - Mkini
