CORONAVIRUS | Car workshops and shops selling spare parts in Selangor will be allowed to operate from 9am to 4pm for emergency purposes during the movement control order period.
According to Berita Harian, Selangor exco member Ng Sze Han said the state government has given priority to frontliners who continue to serve during the order period, as well as those involved in essential services.
"This permission is given for emergency cases, particularly to those required to work during this period.
"But all individuals, no matter what the circumstances, must abide by the 1-metre social distancing rule," said Ng, who is in charge of local government, public transportation and New Village development.
"For those who have no necessity to be out, just stay home to help curb the spread of Covid-19," Ng was quoted as saying.
Aside from workshops and shops selling spare parts, petrol stations in Selangor are allowed to operate from 8am to 8pm.
"Petrol station operators must also ensure the social distancing rule is followed.
"But most petrol stations are quite empty so there shouldn't be a problem," he added.
According to the Health Ministry, as of noon yesterday, there are 890 positive Covid-19 cases in Selangor - the highest among all states - with four Red zones or areas recording more than 40 positive cases. - Mkini
