CORONAVIRUS | Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil has called for the streamlining of the online application process for the Tabung Musaadah Covid-19 aid under the Zakat Collection Centre.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Fahmi (above) directly addressed Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri who oversees the Islamic Affairs portfolio.
"This is an effort that is expected to help many who are affected by the current movement control order (MCO)," said Fahmi in thanking the minister and his team.
"My team and I have researched the online application process for this aid, and I would like to ask for the following improvements - to either add staff to speed up the application process or to simplify the process so that registered applicants are approved quickly and the existing staff can move on to process those who are unregistered."
Under the Tabung Musaadah Covid-19, those with a monthly household income of less than RM4,300 are entitled to a relief payment of RM300.
Fahmi said that many had tried to apply online on Thursday and Friday morning and the website has been temporarily closed.
Citing a notice on the website, Fahmi said it is understood that 35,000 have filled out an online form and now the website is closed until a later date.
Fahmi expressed his wishes that many would receive this aid at this difficult time and offered his help if needed.
