Pakatan top leaders meet for first time since Anwar's claim of having support to form the next govt

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan's top brass met at the PKR headquarters on Monday (Sept 28), the first time since PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed that he held majority support in Parliament.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail did not reveal details on what was discussed at the meeting, saying that they were "just holding their monthly Pakatan meeting".

Among those who attended the meeting were Anwar, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, DAP deputy chairman Gobind Singh Deo, Amanah strategic director Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, DAP vice-chairman M. Kulasegaran, and PKR strategic communications director Fahmi Fadzil.

Last Wednesday (Sept 23), Anwar claimed that he had the majority support to form the next government, adding that he had a "strong and formidable majority".

However, he stopped short of revealing the numbers he had, adding that he would first seek an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Meanwhile, Anwar tweeted that he chaired the Pakatan presidential council monthly meeting and various matters were discussed.

"Various issues were discussed related to the current affairs of the country as well as efforts to restore the people's mandate," he said. - Star
