JOHOR BARU: A man was arrested for possessing two firearms and several bullets during a raid in Taman Pulai Indah here on Sunday night.
Iskandar Puteri police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the arrest was made at 8.10pm raid following a tip off.
"In the raid, we seized a 2 inch .38 SPL revolver, three bullets in the chamber, a 9 mm SME bullet and a homemade air rifle," said Dzulkhairi in a statement.
He said investigation showed that the 28-year-old suspect had a previous criminal record and later tested positive for drugs.
"He has been remanded for seven days until Jan 31 and the case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Firearns (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 and Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960," said Dzulkhairi.
He said police were also looking for another man in connection with the case.
"We are looking for Mohd Rahmin Ahmat who is also known as Ramen. His last known address is No 30-A, Jalan Pengkalan Rinting, Batu 5 Tampoi, Johor Baru," said Dzulkhairi. - NST
