PETALING JAYA: Resorts World Genting (RWG) in Genting Highlands reopened its doors this evening, with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place.
“We are pleased to inform that RWG will resume operations at 6pm on Tuesday, Feb 16, 2021 with strict SOPs in place,” the company said in a statement.
However, the popular resort and casino said some of its hotels, facilities, attractions and other offerings will be subjected to revised operating hours, limited availability or temporary closure.
It added that guests could start making reservations starting today.
“We will continue to fully adhere to the strict SOPs issued by the government throughout the resort and we seek our guests’ cooperation to do the same. The safety and health of all our guests and employees remain our utmost priority.
“We thank you for your patience and kind understanding during the temporary closure of our resort. We look forward to welcoming you back to RWG.”
THe resort was closed following the movement control order (MCO 2.0) in all peninsular states and federal territories from Jan 12, which has since been extended to Feb 18. The MCO has been lifted in Pahang which will be under CMCO until March 4 while Selangor remains under MCO.
This week, the government announced the reopening of more business sectors despite the MCO still being in place.
The gaming sector, which includes four-digit number operators – Magnum, Sports Toto and Damacai – were also allowed to reopen their shops from this morning. - FMT
