Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub tonight chastised his Pakatan Harapan allies for taking in defectors from his party.
This is after at least five assemblypersons switched from Amanah to PKR.
"Knowing the spirit of camaraderie in Harapan, it is not appropriate for any Harapan component party to take in any allied party's members.
"I feel that such a spirit is agreed to by all parties that form a coalition," Salahuddin tweeted.
His tweet included a screenshot of Malaysiakini's article on three Johor lawmakers defecting from Amanah to PKR.
The trio were state assemblypersons Khairuddin A Rahim (Senggarang), Muhamad Said Jonit (Mahkota) and Faizul Amri Adnan (Serom).
Khairuddin told Malaysiakini he joined PKR in September last year hoping the party would give him an opportunity to contest a parliamentary seat.
Faizul had resigned from his Amanah posts last year due to what he said was dissatisfaction with the Johor party leadership. He vowed not to contest in the next general election under Amanah.
Last year, two Selangor assemblypersons from Amanah - Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar (Meru) and Ahmad Mustain Othman (Sabak) - also joined PKR.
Earlier today, PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution said that with Parliament possibly reconvening soon, certain parties had stepped up efforts to convince opposition MPs to jump ship. - Mkini
