Johor calls on private health facilities to help manage low-risk patients

The Johor Health Department has called on the state's private medical facilities to be involved in the management of Covid-19 for categories 1 and 2.

This followed the decision of the Health Ministry last month to allow positive Covid-19 patients in categories 1 and 2 to undergo quarantine and monitoring at home.

Low-risk patients are those in either Category 1 (asymptomatic) or Category 2 (mildly symptomatic).

Based on a circular signed by Johor Health director Dr Aman Rabu, the department will also provide the Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) kit as a reference for private facilities that want to be involved.

Among the materials in the kit include forms, educational materials on MySejahtera reports, slides, lists and charts.

"However, you can refer Covid-19 patients directly to the nearest CAC if there are constraints in the management of categories 1 and 2," Aman said.

The circular was attached to a letter to private medical practitioners in the state signed by the senior assistant director-general of the Johor Private Medical Practice Control Branch (CKAPS), Dr Haslina Zamani.

Based on the Covid-19 patient management flow chart by private facilities, the facilities involved will be responsible for managing the update of the patient list (line list), ensuring self-monitoring by patients using MySejahtera for non-symptomatic patients, virtual symptom monitoring for symptomatic patients, as well as regular monitoring in dormitories or workplaces. - Mkini
