The Klang Sessions Court on Monday sentenced a lorry driver to 33 years of imprisonment after he was found guilty of pimping his own wife and daughter.
The 44-year-old man was also accused under Section 13(b) and Section 14 of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 of raping his 13-year-old daughter.
Judge Roszianayati Ahmad who presided over the case sentenced the man to 15 years’ jail for pimping out his 38-year-old wife, who works as a salesperson at a supermarket.
The judge also ordered him to pay RM10,000 in compensation, in lieu of which his jail sentence would be increased for another six months.
For the offence of pimping out his daughter, the suspect was sentenced to 18 years’ jail and another RM10,000 in compensation.
Meanwhile, Kajang district police chief Mohd Zaid Hassan in a media statement today urged the public to continue reporting crimes to the police, especially in such cases so that perpetrators can be taken to justice.
"Police would like to remind the public that offences under Atipsom law are very serious in nature.
"Strong action would be taken under the law against those who violate it," he said. - Mkini
