Row over TikTok video with second wife leaves first wife dead

A 40-year-old foreigner was found dead in her flat in Petaling Jaya after an altercation with her husband over a TikTok video.

According to the police, the husband “admitted to punching and slapping his wife repeatedly until she was motionless” before leaving the premises.

The couple had quarrelled on Feb 8 at about 10pm after the deceased spotted her husband making the TikTok video with his second wife.

The next morning, police had received information from the public that there was a dead woman in one of the Pelangi Damansara flat units.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said there were bruises on the victim's body.

“The cause of death has not been determined. The body has been sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for post-mortem,” he added in a media statement.

Nik Ezanee said the 29-year-old husband was arrested at about 3pm at a construction site in Kuala Lumpur.

Following this, he added that police detained his 45-year-old second wife, who is also a foreigner, at another construction site in Klang at 6.20pm.

Both suspects have been remanded for six days to facilitate investigations.

Nik Ezanee said the case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. - Mkini
